We would love you to come and celebrate the Summer Solstice by joining us for a foraging walk, wild and seasonal lunch & a wild fermentation workshop.

This is Wild Pickle’s 10th Year anniversary this year! What a way to celebrate! 💚

Within the boundaries of this beautiful organic farm, The Rare Dairy, Emma would love to share the beauty of this landscape, taking you on a guided walk, learning how to safely identify plants & forage for some flavoursome wild seasonal ingredients, and beautiful herbs that Becky has planted in her beautiful herb Garden. We will return to the Rare School and turn those tasty ingredients into delicious ferments for you to take away and enjoy!

In this lovely space We will create a sauerkraut, which is a great way to introduce lacto fermentation and we will create a wild spring kimchi.

(Becky hosted David Asher @theblacksheepschool for a 5 day cheese making workshop in this great space last year)

During your day, We will have a delicious organic lunch with refreshments and lots of tasters for you to enjoy and to get a flavour of what you can create.

We provide everything you need to create your ferments. Please bring a little basket/cotton bag for any wild greens we may pick up on the way, to add to your ferments and to take your ferments home with you at the end of the day.

We will send you more detailed instructions on booking.
We request you advise of any dietry requirements when booking.

The Rare Dairy is home to rare Shetland cattle and provides organic raw milk, yogurt,kefir paneer and nourishing herbal products.

The postcode doesn’t work well for navigation…if you find the war memorial in Ash, turn alongside it down the no-through road. You’ll go past three large houses immediately on your left, then Ash Hall on your right, carry on down the lane, past Pixley Cottages on the right, past a sign for The Rare Dairy, over a cattle grid and then past a sign for The Rare Retreat. Continue down the private lane, past the shepherd’s hut on your right and carry straight on over another cattle grid into the yard

“Had the most therapeutic day with Emma on her nettle foraging and fermenting day. Honestly one of the best experience days I’ve ever had. Emma’s knowledge and gentle passion for the day was just inspiring. I was left in total awe so many times as we tasted her delicious food as well as the most incredible nettle beer! birch sap! kombucha and of course nettle cakes! I don’t think I’ve ever felt prouder of the 2 special jars of kimchi and saurkraut that I got to bring home with me. … after a well earned stop off at the local pub for a half at the recommendation of Emma! Top day! Highly recommended“  Laura
