We present an evening to share the love and put fermented drinks into context. The perfect time in the Summer months!

Fermented drinks Mocktail Evening – Upstairs in the KPA (Keele University)

Sometimes you don’t wish to drink alcohol but you wish for something to quench your thirst or to be able to enjoy a drink with some depth and complexity that commercial drinks can’t quite achieve.. Maybe try these drinks out!

Come and join Emma for an evening of fun.

Learn to make green tea kombucha, tepache and ginger bug, then turn them into Cocktails, or Mocktails.

Master three simple ferments through live demos you can recreate at home:

  • Green tea kombucha: How to make a brew and add a scoby…
  • Tepache: A traditional fermented drink made with pine apple rind…
  • Ginger bug: Wild ginger starter for natural sodas.. How to get going with a starter..

Each demo includes the full process (ingredients, timing, troubleshooting), so you leave confident to start fermenting.

Then create a cocktail/mocktail or two of your making!

What your evening includes: –

  • A handbook with step-by-step recipes for all three ferments, plus storage/safety tips and all you need to know to get going, mocktail suggestions, and recipes from the evening. 
  • Live demos + tasters of plain ferments to understand these fermented drinks in their own right.
  • Two guided cocktails/mocktails using your ferments (If you wish to make your drink into a cocktail, there is a bar downstairs so you can pick your tipple, this is not included in the cost, Wild Pickle provides everything else!) 
  • This involves exploring oxymels, shrubs, bitters and salts too as well as enjoying the fermented drinks.
  • Complimentary bar snacks with a fermented twist.

Emma is a professional forager and a fermenter and has been running workshops like these for 11 years.

She loves to create flavours and ferments, come and join us for a lovely evening!
